Annual Sports Meet 2022

If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you and sport is one of the best ways to have a better understanding of that.

The Yenepoya School organized their Annual Sports Day at Mangala Stadium, Mangalore, on Thursday, 24th November 2022 with great zeal. Students from grades 3 to 11 participated in various events and displayed their sporty skills. The event commenced with an official program which was hosted by Miss Rufaida Dawood. Ms. Sinchana Gowda, International Surfer, was the chief guest for the occasion. Principal, Mr. Uzwal Menezes, welcomed the gathering. Campus Director, Mrs. Mishria Javeed, Service Delivery Head, Mr. Ravi Goyal were the other personages on the dais. A well synchronized parade was presented by the NCC students followed by students of the 4 Houses of TYS and students of class 11 Science. The School Flag was hoisted by the chief guest and the dignitaries along with the sports teachers. The lit torch was carried by Samith Xavier that was handed to Thalha followed by Havva Siyana, Muhammad Aarin and the Sports Captain, Mohammed Shamil. The Sports Meet was declared open by releasing the air balloons. Sports Captain, Falaha Sara, read out the Oath for all. The Chief Guest, Ms Sinchana Gowda expressed her delight to meet the TYS family and encouraged the students to be active and include sports in their routine. She was overjoyed to see the passion and dedication of the students. Jasper House won the prize for exhibiting the best March Past. The formal function culminated with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Falaha Sara. A memento was presented to the chief guest as a token of gratitude. The track and ground events were set in motion soon thereafter. Students from NEP 2 to 4 took part in 75 mtrs, 200 mtrs, 400 mtrs and 800 mtrs races. The vigor at the arena was next level. It was a treat to watch the parents cheer their children. Medals and certificates were distributed to the winners. The highlights of the event were the relay races that got the audience to the edge. The Valedictory Ceremony began with the Principal thanking and appreciating the students and staff for putting up a fantastic show. The School flag was lowered and handed over to the sports teachers.
