SCHEME OF ASSESSMENT

Pre- School

During these tender years the children are assessed on the basis of constant evaluation. The academic year  is divided into  3 terms. Assessment reports are based on daily observations and personal interactions with every child. The teacher –student ratio of 2:25 ensures that every child is attended to personally and evaluated. Thus the child’s progress in all the 6 developmental areas i.e. Language development ,Mathematical development, Understanding of the world around the child, Creative development, Fine motor and gross motor skills, Personal, Social and Emotional development is documented .Constant feedback is given to the parents to help monitor the growth of the child as an individual.

Grade I to X

TYS follows the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation ( CCE) proposed by the CBSE. The grades are assigned on the basis of a series of assessments that happen throughout the year. Two Summative Assessments are taken up in a year, one in the middle of the term and the other at the end of the term. Each term further has 2 Formative Assessments out of which one is exclusively based on non paper- pencil method. Projects, Group work, Public speaking, Assignments etc. all form part of the assessments. This method of assessment recognizes the difference in the learning styles of children and their inherent strengths. This allows them to demonstrate their learning through varied means.
Students are evaluated on a 9-point grading system. Each grade given on the basis of both Formative and Summative Assessments, will correspond to a Range of marks as indicated below:
