YENEPOYA GREEN RUN

The Yenepoya School organised the Yenepoya Green Run on 6th June 2011 to commemorate the World Environment Day. It was a small initiative from the side of the school to create awareness among the general public about the need to preserve the environment. More than 200 enthusiastic runners from 12 to 60 year olds came forward to take part in the event.
The Green run was flagged off by Mangalore Inspector General of Police Mr. Gopal Hosoor. The valedictory function was graced by the Mr. U T Khadar, MLA Mangalore (Rural) and presided by the Yenepoya University Chancellor Mr. Y. Abdullah Kunhi. The Chairman of Mangalore Pollution Control Board Mr Rajesh Kumar was also present on the occasion. The Principal Dr. C K Manjunath emphasized the need to spread the message of preserving the environment to the youth of today in order to have a better and brighter future.
The students and staff of The Yenepoya School were led by none other than the Managing Director Mr Farhaad Yenepoya in the run. The winners under the different age categories were presented with trophies and a sapling.
